Palm trees belong to the family called Palmae, also known as Arecaseae. Palm trees are evergreen. They are usually tropical plants, but some can be grown in cold areas (they are known as hardy palms).

Pacaya Palm

A Pacaya palm (Chamaedorea tepejiloe) is a single trunked or clustering palm tree which has been cultivated for centuries for its pacaya-male inflorescences. Pacaya  is an important food in Central America which can be eaten raw or cooked.In native habitat it grown from mexico to Colombia.
